What Do I Need For My Desk At Home?
You want to ensure that the items on your desk allow you to be productive with your work and limit distractions. Here is a list of home office accessories you can find today!
1. Desk Lamp
Tend to work late into the night? Make sure you have a lamp on your desk to prevent straining your eyes.
3. Wire Mesh Document Holder
I find having a document holder that I can see through he’s so much with knowing what paperwork and notebooks I have inside.
4. Screen Cleaner
A toxic-free way to clean your electronic screens. It comes with a full-size bottle, a travel-size bottle, and a couple of microfibre (lit Free!) cloths to help wipe down your screen.
I use this daily on my phone and iPad.
5. Portable Keyboard
I use my portable keyboard all the time when I’m at my desk. It’s great for typing on laptops, computers, and Tablets. All you need to do is connect your keyboard via Bluetooth and you’re good to go!
6. Mouse
If you have a MacBook, I highly suggest investing in the Apple Magic Mouse. It’s great to move from screen to screen (only compatible with their computers and iPads).
If not then I highly suggest getting a mouse to work with. Easier to use than the trackpad on your laptop.
7. Mousepad
I found using a regular mousepad started to put a lot of pressure on my wrist. I decided to invest in a mousepad with wrist support, and I feel ten times better!
If you’re using a mouse all day for work, I highly suggest this desk must-have item!
8. Power Bar
If you’re anything like me and need countless devices plugged in at the same time, look into grabbing a power bar for underneath your desk. Especially one with power surge protection included.
Whenever there is a power outage, your devices are protected from any electric damage.
9. Desk Mat
Do you tend to slide your laptop over your desk? Or perhaps rest your coffee on top of your desk in the mornings?
Having a desk mat helps protect your desk from damage and last longer.
10. Multifunction Computer Memo Board
I am always multitasking. Sometimes when I’m writing a blog post, I get an idea that has to be written down. Or I need to remind myself about a meeting happening that day.
A multifunction computer memory board is a great desk must have item to have on your computer. It’s great for people who need a physical reminder throughout the day.
11. Desk Organizer
Find your desk scattered with stuff everywhere? A desk organizer will help with keeping your little stationary items in its place.
12. Laptop Stand Holder
Before purchasing my laptop stand, my back was so sore slouching over my laptop.
With a laptop stand, I’m able to sit upright and have less back pain while working.
13. Desk Calendar
I don’t care that phones have built-in calendars we can use. I am a ride-or-die for a plain old paper calendar. I find it so much easier to plan my personal life, business, and just everything in between.
P.S.: I have a great blog post about how I use a weekly planner and how I plan my entire month to help organize my life and not feel overwhelmed.
14. Walking Pad
You’ve seen these on Tiktok and I’m also looking into purchasing one too. A walking pad. This is for the girlies who fidget and have a hard time sitting still while working.
You can use the walking pad to help with focusing on the task at hand and get your steps in for the day!
15. Exercise Bike
Another alternative to the walking pad is an exercise bike. This item is great for people who have to sit for long periods of time and aren’t able to walk on a treadmill.
16. Standing Desk
Lastly, another Tiktok favorite; a standing desk. If you find sitting down all day is hurting your neck and back, invest in a standing desk.
You can adjust the height of the desk automatically and can fit in apartments/small living spaces.
Overall…
Prep your desk the best way for you. This method will allow you to keep focus, and increase your productivity while working from home!
